This week I only had 1 day where I wanted to create 3 pieces of content to post the coming days.

But.....

I was completely out of inspiration...

After sitting and thinking for a while, I decided to stop that and just check into myself with intuitive drawing and art journalling. No goal. Just turning inwards, relax & draw.

And then...

I SWEAR; only 5 minutes in and I already had 3 new ideas that popped into my head without any effort!

This is the amazing power of intuitive drawing! Bottom up approach, feelings & body first, thoughts come after that.

I just LOVE IT 🤗

Sometimes it's better to not work on yourself. Sometimes life is a little too harsh to face it all at once. Sometimes you have to survive first, and then survive the survival.

Survive the unavailable father, survive not being allowed to be yourself, survive the love you didn't receive, survive the thread.

But then, at some moment, there is a little distance between you and the thread, and life is inviting you to grow through your pain. And you feel strong enough to do it.

That is the moment you can slowly start your journey inwards. It can be a journey that feels confronting to take. But it's also the path to healing, to love. First self-love, then love for all will follow.

I worked through my anxiety and pains, and I feel so much lighter and experience conscious joy and peace. I wish this for you too, so that's why I kindly invite everyone who feels capable, to take a look inwards and see which parts could still be healed. It's a great luxury to have, to heal our inner world!

The more you are living according to your balance and authentic self, the kinder, more loving, calmer and open minded you can be towards others.

To be there for yourself = to be there for others ♡

Starting my own business is one of the greatest, AND one of the scariest things Iv'e done in my career so far..!

I am a 1000% sure that I will keep doing this, but the struggles are also real...

There was one point that I realized that the financial stress was getting the better of me, and that working in my atelier felt like pressure instead of joy.

And that's not how I want my life-work to feel like.

So with the summer season coming up, I decided to take off the financial pressure of my starting business and take on a part time summer job as a cook on the oldest steamboat in Sweden (and boy do I like this job...!😍)

This way I get to work on my atelier from a space of energy, exitement and joy again, so that when you come, I can pass it on to you ♡

Together we'll gently look for your triggers in the safe haven of art. If you have troubles with bounderies, we can make an art piece together where I'll try to gently aggitate you in the art making proces and where you can practice responding.

Or if you have problems with letting go, we can make as many wet in wet watercolour paintings (technique with little controle) until you feel okay with not having control.

And then we come back to where this series started. Because you now know how to set up your boundaries, or let go of control in art therapy, it gets much esier to apply these new experiences in you daily life ♡

If you learn that your emotions are a part inside you, but not you, this distance can give you clarity and space to make other, healthier dicisions.

Making intuitive art about your emotions is a beautiful way to create this distance.

For example, when something is triggering your anxiety, instead of acting on it, you now have space to take a different decision:

"I realize that my anxiety is being triggerd and that I prefer to ... (call in sick/ take a glass of wine/ scroll on social media) ... I'm greatful for the signal that my body is giving me (trigger is sign of disbalance) and I choose to listen to it. AND then I choose to act on it in a healthy way (call a friend, paint, move, hug someone)."

By not walking away for your emotions but aknowlage them, and then act in a healthy way, the chances are high that you will experience less triggers over time.

Today: How to stop running away from your emotions through art therapy.

Do you recognise the feeling of restlessness, the moment you finally have time to relax and do nothing? And ending up looking for distractions so you don't have to deal with it?

You are not the only one! This is a very common coping mechanism for unprocessed and unconscious emotions.

The moment I start drawing, I feel my body relax.

It's a pause button on autopilot. A conscious moment to actually be present, instead of spending the whole day stuck in my head.

When I get quiet like this, I become aware of my body and my feelings. And that's when I can finally listen to what it's been signaling to me. There's so much information in there, if we just stop long enough to notice!

Sometimes I realize I've been unconsciously dreading something; an appointment, a dinner, a meeting. Drawing gives me the space to reflect on that, and maybe make a different choice. One that actually benefits my balance...

Take rest instead. Skip the extra meeting. Cancel the dinner, go for a walk instead.

It sounds so simple, because it is... Yet it's so easy to loose ourselves in this everyday hectic.

So let's draw and listen to the small signals, so that they don't have to grow into big ones.

This is why I draw! Not to make something, but to come back to myself. ♡

Resisting an uncomfortable feeling tends to make it louder and keeps your nervous system activated. The original emotion/ trigger may pass naturally, but if you keep fighting it, the resistence doesn't.

Beying okay with not being okay sends a safety signal to your body that allows your nervous system to calm down again.

This is where art comes in: when you create a piece that expresses these uncomfortable emotions, the act of art itself is the allowing of these feelings. You sit with them in the safe space of art and allowing them to be felt and released. 🪷🎨
